Data we collect
WidgText does not require an account, and the developer does not receive your name, email address, widget text, or quote lists through the app. Two Google services may process other app and device data:
Firebase Analytics
Used to measure whether the app is useful and where its purchase flow needs improvement. It may collect:
- App interactions and lifecycle events, such as opens, screen activity, saved widgets, paywall views, purchases, and rewarded-ad results
- A pseudonymous app-instance identifier and device or vendor identifiers
- App version, device model, operating system, language, and similar technical information
- Approximate location derived from an IP address; Google says Analytics does not log or store the IP address itself
Google AdMob
Used to display banner and rewarded ads in the free version. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location
- Device identifiers, including an advertising identifier when available and permitted
- Advertising data, such as ads shown, and product interactions such as taps or rewarded-video views
- Performance information, crash logs, and other diagnostic information
WidgText may ask for App Tracking Transparency permission only after you choose a rewarded ad. If you decline, the promised reward remains available and ads may still be limited or non-personalized.
How we use data
- Measure app reliability, feature use, onboarding, purchases, and the rewarded-ad funnel
- Improve WidgText and understand whether the free and Pro experiences are working
- Serve, measure, limit, and protect advertising, including fraud prevention
- Meet legal, security, and App Store obligations
Google processes this data under its applicable terms and privacy policy. WidgText does not sell your widget text or use it for advertising.

Retention and deletion
Widget text and settings remain on your device until you change them or delete the app. Firebase Analytics user-level and event-level data is retained according to the Google Analytics property's configured retention period and is automatically deleted by Google when that period ends. Standard aggregated reports may remain after user-level and event-level data is deleted.
AdMob data is retained and deleted under Google's service terms and privacy policy. WidgText keeps data only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security.
You may contact us to request access to or deletion of data under our control. Because WidgText has no account system and analytics identifiers are pseudonymous, we may not be able to connect a request to a particular Analytics or AdMob record without information that identifies it. We will still explain and honor the options available under applicable law.
Change your privacy choices
- When required for your region, open WidgText, choose Help, then Privacy Choices to review or change advertising consent.
- On iPhone, use Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking to change tracking permission.
- You can use WidgText's free editor even when you decline consent or an ad is unavailable.
- Deleting WidgText removes its locally stored widget text and settings from the device.
Children
WidgText is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Policy changes
This policy may change when WidgText's features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top will be updated, and material changes will be communicated in the app or release notes when appropriate.
